For what it's worth I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to my goals lately. So, in an effort to get myself back on track, I thought I'd do an update so I'd know exactly where I am on the road to accomplishing them. Here goes:
Read 100 books this year --I just finished my 59th book so I think this goal is doable if I stop watching so much TV and get back to reading.
Finish my 200 projects by August 15--I failed at this one. I made it to 100 but I will try again for next year. I did really good for the first half of the year, but faded in the home lap. This year it will be Sept. 1, 2009- Sept 1, 2010. I guess I need to pull out my sewing machine again (John said he will build me some shelves for my sewing stuff). My first project of the new year is to make some toy bags to organize the toys that are everywhere in our house.
Complete the $200 DMBA health challenge--I have done all the health challenges they have had so far. I think they've had 3 maybe. I like doing them. For the last one I finished, BYU gave me a little MAG flashlight that John stole immediately. He'll use it more than me anyway. A new challenge starts on Tuesday so we'll see how it goes.
Post on my blog once a week--Here it is. And I think I've been doing pretty well on this. I don't make it every week, but I think I've made up for it other times.
Write in my journal at least 5 days a week--Total catastrophic failure. I really need to find a time to write because I think it helps me keep perspective on my life. I'll think about it.
Finish reading the Book of Mormon by February--I did it and am currently trying to read it again for this year. I am in the middle of Mosiah. I also would like to read the D&C this year but haven't made it much past Section 1. (Although, we're on like Section 79 for the fam and 90 as a couple. I guess that counts a little.)
Get A's on all the beginning level songs on DDR--Haven't worked on this in months. I am now forced to split my time between DDR and Wii Fit. It's a hard life I lead. I'm thinking about starting some kind of routine including both, but that's about as far as I've gotten.
Make bags and organize toys--This will happen soon, maybe this week. I am tired of all the chaos with toys in my house and I think this is a good solution.
Try to be nice to my kids and have fun with them--I try and I try but sometimes it just doesn't happen. I did take them school shopping and we had fun doing that. And we did have a pretty good FHE last week. Oh, and Kate, my mom and I went to one of the Friday night events at the Timp Storytelling Festival. That was awesome and it was fun to see Kate enjoying herself so much. I guess I'll keep trying.
So, after doing that, I feel a little better about my life. That is what I like about goals. They make you feel a sense of accomplishment and push you for the future. Life is good.
