Me: Come on, sweet cakes. Let's get out of the car.
Adam: Mom, I not sweet cake!
Me: You're not a sweet cake. What are you then?
Adam: I Adam, THE BOY.
Later, when Adam handed me his hat and gloves to put away.
Me: Thank you, sir.
Adam: Mom, I not sir! I Adam the boy!
At least he knows who he is.

That sounds just like Matthew! I am always trying to call him other names like "buddy" or "honey" or something and he says "I'm not buddy--I'm Matthew!" Okay . . .
my brother was the same way. he's the youngest & has 5 older sisters. he's always taylor-boy.
