Warrior Mom Activity

One semester when I was in college I read the book "Warrior Woman" and my roommates and I decided we needed to have a "Warrior Woman" experience to toughen us up. We ended up climbing Mt. Timpanogos and it was one of the funnest things I did in college. It was awesome!!! And after we all felt way tough. So I decided I needed a "Warrior Mom" experience. I packed up all the kids and walked to the library. I carried Adam in the carrier, pushed Ruth, Lily and Emma in the stroller and kept Kate and Mary motivated. It actually wasn't too bad. The hardest part was getting out of the house. The library is about 1/2 mile from our house and it is pretty much a straight shot. The girls had a lot of fun and I did too. They were really good and stayed right with me the whole time. Kate and Mary helped carry all our stuff. They were very helpful. And at the end of the day I felt tough. I am a still a warrior woman. YAH!!

Every time Adam goes out of town I do something random to prove I am tough and to keep me from feeling trapped because I am alone with 4 kids. A few examples I have taken them to dinner alone (sit down style- not fast food), taken them swimming alone (the Y does have life guards), taken them to get MY haircut, Usually they do great and I come home feeling good.

Good work, Kaylyn. I don't know if I'm brave enough for the haircut yet, but there's still hope.

You are tough! I have thought several times about walking to the library with my two kids, but never got up the nerve. Go Tara Go!

Go Tara! That is a good walk and a really fun one too. I bet it will become a regular habit for you all now. I did it with 3 kids but I wish I could have seen you do it with 6. You are absolutely, positively and completely the DEFINITIVE warrior woman. I miss Provo Library a whole lot too.

I also thought you were going to say that you hiked Timp with the 6 kids, I was about the fall out of my chair!
