Calvin and Hobbes over the years

When I was in high school and college I loved Calvin and Hobbes. I thought it was the funniest thing out there. Every day I would get the BYU newspaper just so I could read the latest C&H comic strip. The day Bill Waterston announced he wasn't doing the comic strip anymore was a very sad day in my life.

Anyway, I haven't really read Calvin and Hobbes in years. We have a couple of the books but I rarely pull them out and read them, although when I do I still think it is hilarious. But then a couple of weekends ago my ward had a little mini women's conference that I went to. One of the topics was about dealing with kids. She used a lot of Calvin and Hobbes strips to illustrate her points. She said she used to think Calvin was funny until she realized she had become his mom. Then some of the things were funny in a different way or not quite as funny at all. It's true. When you look at it from the perspective of the parents, it is a little different.

Kate recently decided she really likes Calvin and Hobbes so she's been reading all the books, and she thinks they are hilarious. She reads me her favorite ones sometimes and I couldn't believe how much they reminded me of people. So here is one of my favorites (I'd do more but I can't figure it out):

MY KIDS

I had this great one about little boys flying for Evan but I can't figure out how to get it from my scanner to here. Sorry!
